Voice and Swallowing Disorders
Dinusha is a speech-language pathologist with 20 years experience working with a wide variety of voice and swallowing disorders. She works with adults who may be experiencing difficulties with their speaking and singing voices, chronic cough and swallowing disorders. She also works with children experiencing difficulties with their speaking and singing voices. Dinusha began her speech therapy career in London, UK where she trained and specialised in voice and swallowing disorders within an ENT (Ear Nose Throat) team at a teaching hospital.
Since returning to Vancouver in 2010, Dinusha has worked at different acute care hospitals, provided specialist training to peers, presented at medical conferences and is a clinical instructor at UBC.
Dinusha has received advanced clinical training in voice and swallowing disorders over the course of her career in the UK and Canada. She uses this knowledge and experience along with her interest in working with people to understand their concerns and produce the most successful outcomes for her clients.

︎ 10 years working in Vancouver, Canada across acute care hospital settings and currently working part-time at BC Cancer.
Registered member of the College of Speech and Hearing Health Professionals of BC with advanced competencies in the assessment of voice and swallowing disorders.

Dinusha has presented at a number of conferences and inservices including:
︎ 31 May 2021: Presentation to ENT residents at the 2021 laryngology lecture series on 'voice disorders in head and neck cancer'.
︎ 9 December 2021: Inservice to pediatric respirology at BC Childrens Hospital on "SLP role with Exercise Induced Laryngeal Obstruction (EILO)"
6 May 2022: Presentation at BC Society of Allergy and Immunology on "SLP role with Exercise Induced Laryngeal Obstruction (EILO)".
Dinusha’s private practice is based in East Vancouver. She is available to make home visits upon request and review.

All sessions are currently offered via telehealth. Most extended health plans cover private speech therapy up to a certain amount. Please check with your plan for more information.
Initial assessment (60 minutes including assessment and introduction to treatment): $160
Therapy session (45 minutes): $125
